To choose the correct size for your book you need to determine both the height and the overall width of the jacket required by applying the following equation:

Overall width = 2 x width of the cover in millimetres (mm) + 1 x the spine width in millimetres (mm)

First deterrmine the height of the book in millimetres (mm). For example 198mm.
A book of height 198mm then has several, overall width, size options. For example PP198, PP198B, PP198B1, PP198B2, PP198B3, PP198B4.

So, if the width of the cover is 200mm and the spine width is 10mm, the overall width is 410mm. Therefore the Jacket required would be the PP198B2.

PLEASE NOTE: All of our sizes are based on paperback books, however all of our jackets can also be used to protect hardback books. Although it is not an 'exact science', hardback books are traditionally thicker than paperback books. We therefore recommend that you allow an additional 4mm on both the height and the overall width of the jacket required when sizing a jacket to protect a Hardback book.

Using the same example above you would therefore require a PP202B2. By the same token the PP198B2 would fit a hardback book with a spine height of 194mm.

TOP TIP: Once you know the height of the book (e.g.198mm), pre-fix the number with PP i.e. PP198 and type this into out search bar at the top of this page. You will then see all the size options available for book heights of 198mm.
